UEPA has joined an international project to reduce energy consumption

Ukrainian Engineering Pedagogics Academy (UEPA) has become part of the scientific and practical project "Environmental Municipal Energy Consumption Management" (Nakopa-E-UKR-3-19) in the framework of municipal energy management in Vyshgorod, Kyiv region. The aim of the project, carried out by the communes of the Ukrainian city of Vyshhorod and German Eichenau, with additional funding from Engagement Global gGmbH, is to prove the possibility of a significant reduction in energy consumption in the Ukrainian climate.

To include UEPA in the project, a tripartite agreement was signed between the Vyshhorod City Council represented by Mayor Oleksii Momot, Ukrainian Engineering Pedagogics Academy and the Engineering Bureau Koberlein GmbH, which provides technical control over the project from the German side.

During the first meeting, which lasted from January 31 to February 2, 2022, Serhii Voitenko and Zlata Oberemok, graduates of the Department of Physics, Electrical Engineering and Power Engineering of UEPA, together with Yuliia Oliinyk, a lecturer of the above-mentioned department, and Oleksandr Kupriyanov, Vice-Rector in scientific work, studied the current state of the project and conducted a study of heat consumption after a partial modernization of a house. A seminar was held for those interested in energy modernization of buildings. The German party was represented by the Director of the Engineering Bureau Jürgen Koberlein-Kerler, who attended the event. On behalf of the Ukrainian party, the meeting was organized by the Deputy Mayor of Vyshhorod Vitalii Sardak.

Research activities and calculations of the effectiveness of energy saving measures will continue to be carried out during the next events scheduled for April and June.

Based on practical real-life examples, the results of the project will allow proving the possibility of a significant reduction in energy use, resulting in a decrease in CO2 emissions, promoting energy consumption in the region and ensuring practical student training in energy consumption.
