The municipal energy management project in the city of Vyshhorod is going on

The invasion of the russian federation into Ukraine has had a significant impact on the Ukrainian-German project «Ecological communal management of energy consumption» (Nakopa-E-UKR-3-19) within the framework of municipal energy management in the city of Vyshhorod, Kyiv region, in which the Ukrainian Engineering Pedagogics Academy participated.

The municipal building, which was selected for pilot modernization, ended up in a war zone. Russian troops were stopped a few kilometers from Vyshhorod, and the city was bombarded. As the result, all construction work on the project was suspended, and the building was used as a bomb shelter. However, the communication of the project participants has been constantly maintained: with the help of the Zoom service, meetings were held every week, in which the deputy mayor of Vyshhorod Vitaly Sardak, an employee of the municipality of Eichenau, Frau Dr. Kessel, director of the engineering bureau Herr Jürgen Koberlein-Kerler, vice-rector for scientific work of UEPA Oleksandr Kupriyanov and associate professor of the department of physics, electrical engineering and power engineering of UEPA Yuliya Oliynyk took part.

After the retreat of the russian troops, the city of Vyshhorod is returning to peaceful life and restoring the infrastructure that was damaged by the russian invaders. German partners have already sent numerous humanitarian aid.

Construction work is also being resumed as part of the municipal energy management project. In the near future, insulation of the roof and attached stairs will be carried out, followed by insulation of the facade and air recirculation. UEPA students resumed work on the presentation part of the project.

Despite the war, we hope for a successful completion of the project in November.
