Within the project PAGOSTE an Inter-institutional methodical online seminar «Qualification work of applicants for specialty 015 «Professional education (by specializations): content and educational and methodological support» has taken place

 

As part of the implementation of the Erasmus+ project «New management mechanisms based on partnership and standardization of the training of teachers of professional education in Ukraine (PAGOSTE)» No. 609536-EPP-1-2O19-DE-EPPKA2-CBHE-SP, on January 23, an Inter-institutional methodical online seminar «Qualification work of applicants for specialty 015 «Professional education (by specializations)»: content and educational and methodological support took place. The seminar was organized by representatives of the National Transport University (NTU), Vadym Hetman Kyiv National University of Economics (KNEU) and the Ukrainian Engineering Pedagogics Academy (UEPA).

Participants of the Professional Advisory Committees of NTU and KNEU, applicants of educational and professional programs in specialty 015 – Professional education (by specializations) took part in the seminar. The reports of participants highlighted the achievements of NTU, KNEU and UEPA in the content and methodical provision of preparation of qualification papers at the first (bachelor's) and second (master's) levels of higher education.

Some issues and proposals for improvement of the content and structure of qualification papers of applicants for specialty 015 «Professional education» were discussed.

Main conclusions and recommendations:

  1. The qualifying work in general of the qualifying work of the applicant in the specialty 015 – Professional education (by specializations) can be implemented both at the first (bachelor) and second (master) levels of higher education, as it is aimed at the formation of creative, research competencies of future teachers. At the same time, at the master's level, the work should have a more systematic, generalizing character, contribute to the solution of a more important scientific and practical problem.
  2. When determining the topic of qualification works, it is advisable to focus on current educational trends, employers' requests, the content of training, and the existing conditions.
  3. The content of qualification papers for specialty 015 – Professional education (by specialization) should present both pedagogical and professional context. At the same time, priority is given to the pedagogical component, since this qualification work is a form of final attestation of the training of applicants who are studying in the educational program in the field 01 – Education/Pedagogy.
  4. Supervision of qualification work should be carried out by lecturers of the graduation department or departments in the relevant specialty. The decision on the ratio of certain sections is discussed in accordance with the specifics of the educational and professional program in a specific higher education institution.
  5. In order to successfully prepare the qualification work and organize the formal aspects of its implementation, it is recommended to introduce these issues into the content of the relevant academic disciplines, as well as to provide applicants with the necessary educational and methodological materials.
