Despite the war in Ukraine, regular power outages and many other problems and obstacles, the project of municipal energy management in the city of Vyshhorod was successfully completed on time. It was a joint Ukrainian-German project of the two cities of Vyshhorod (Ukraine) and Eichenau (Germany). The project was implemented by specialists of the Ukrainian Engineering Pedagogics Academy and Engineering Bureau Koberlein GmbH, who provided technical control of the project from the German side.
The following stages of work were completed in full:
− replacement of windows with more energy-efficient ones;
− insulation of the roof of the building;
− insulation of facades;
− installation of an individual heating point;
− installation of recuperators in each room;
− installation of the ventilation and fire system.
In the process of the work a 2nd year master degree student in the specialty 141 «Electroenergetics, electrical engineering and electromechanic» Voytenko Serhiy carried out calculations of heat losses before and after the implementation of heat modernization. The detailed results were presented in his master's thesis, which he successfully defended with an excellent mark. Besides, the outcomes of the joint work were published in journals of an international scientific and practical conferences and certificates were obtained.
The theoretical knowledge and practical calculations, which were received as a result of international cooperation on the project, will be implemented by associate professor Yulia Oliynyk in her courses «International scientific and technical cooperation in energy» and «Energy efficiency and the latest technologies in electrotechnical and electric power systems». The project is of great significance for students and for lecturers, as it enabled practical implementation of energy-saving measures in the administrative building in Kyiv region.
We would like to thank our German partners, the administration of the city of Eichenau (Germany) and the city of Vyshhorod (Ukraine) for the opportunity to participate in the project. This project initiated a successful and interesting Ukrainian-German cooperation in the field of energy saving. We hope for further cooperation and look forward to the next projects.
