Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dr.sc.techn. Dr.h.c. Michael E. Auer received his Ing. degree in 1971 and his Ph.D. degree in 1975 with a thesis on «Design and Analysis of ECL Circuits» from the Dresden University of Technology. His working field was the analysis and design of high-speed integrated microelectronic circuits. As a result of this work about 14 patents were registered. Furthermore, he undertook research in the field of multi-valued logic circuitry and its application in microelectronics. He received a Dr.sc.techn. degree (Habilitation) with a thesis on «Multi-Valued Logic Circuits» in 1978.
He is author or co-author of more than 230 publications and leading member of numerous national and international organizations in the field of Online Technologies. He is author or leading editor of more than 25 books.
Besides being a co-chair/member of the Program Committees of several international conferences and workshops he is especially involved in the following international conferences:
− founder and general chair of the annual International Conference «Interactive Collaborative Learning» (ICL);
