From December 12 to December 17, the participants of the PAGOSTE project from the Ukrainian Engineering Pedagogics Academy, Maryna Petrivna Vasylieva, Vice-rector for scientific and pedagogical work, Ph.D. and Bondarenko Tetyana Serhiivna, Professor of the Department of Information Computer Technologies and Mathematics, Ph.D. as part of the Staff Visit of HEI made a working trip to WU Vienna
The following activities were carried out as part of the visit:
− A meeting with Professor Richard Fortmüller and graduate student Rosanna Steininger.
As part of the meeting, a presentation and discussion were held on the topic of professional education in Austria, professional education of teachers in Austria, the structure of the business education program at WU (Vienna University of Business and Economics), management of teacher education. There was also group work on comparing Austrian and Ukrainian experience.
University employee Barbara Dunkl led a tour and introduced the delegation of the Ukrainian Engineering Pedagogical Academy to the Vienna University of Business and Economics, showed educational buildings, administrative buildings, and multimedia classrooms. The building of the university library was particularly impressive. This is the pride of WU – the most complete library of economic literature in the German-speaking environment - is available to students, as well as the latest equipment of computer laboratories. The combination of thorough theoretical training with the opportunity to practice it in a real business environment is the guarantee of WU success in «cultivating» first-class economists.
− A meeting with Professor Bernhard Löffler who presented the commercial school, talked about the organizational system and peculiarities of the educational process at the school. Group work was also held to compare the Austrian and Ukrainian experience.
− Meeting with Professor Gehard Geissler and teacher Michael Posch. As part of the meeting, a presentation and discussion was held on the subject of textbooks on vocational and technical subjects, educational standards and content of textbooks, didactic design of textbooks, evaluation and approval of textbooks on vocational and technical subjects. The Academy lecturers got acquainted with the features of the publication and the textbook review procedure. There was also a group work on comparing the Austrian and Ukrainian experience. Gehard Geissler presented his textbooks on the discipline «Administrative Management» in four volumes to the Ukrainian Engineering Pedagogics Academy.
Marina Vasylieva and Tetiana Bondarenko attended Rosanna Steininger's lecture on «Financial assets» (in German), got acquainted with the technical base and methodical support for lectures and the technologies for using multimedia tools and interactive forms of control during the training session.
− Presentation and discussion with Dr. Kerstin Konczer. As part of the presentation, the structure of school practice, features of school practice management, cooperation: University – Schools – Education Administration were presented. The Academy lecturers got acquainted with the peculiarities of the organization of school practice and held a discussion about the peculiarities of practice in Ukrainian higher educational institutions.
During the working visit, the teachers also had the opportunity to get acquainted with the famous places of Vienna: the Town Hall Square, St. Stephen's Cathedral, the Hofburg Palace Complex, the Ferris Wheel, the Student Campus and the library of the WU University of incredible beauty and design. The Vienna Opera was particularly impressive, namely Mozart's opera-singspiel The Magic Flute.
