Members of the UEPA Erasmus+ project team of the CRED4TEACH project took part in training at Anadolu University (Turkey)

 

In the period from January 10 to January 12, members of the project team of the Erasmus+ project CRED4TEACH from the Ukrainian Engineering Pedagogics Academy, Vice-Rector for Scientific Work, professor, Ph.D. of Technical Sciences, Oleksandr Volodymyrovych Kupriyanov, professor of the Department of Information Computer Technologies and Mathematics, Ph.D. of Pedagogical Sciences, Tetiana Serhiyivna Bondarenko and Associate Professor of the Department of Food Technologies, Light Industry and Design, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences Denys Volodymyrovych Borysenko made a working trip to Anadolu University (Eskişehir, Turkey) and took part in the training “How to become a MOOC designer”.

The following activities were carried out as part of the visit.

A meeting with Cengiz Hakan Aydin, head of the department of distance education of Open Education Faculty of Anadolu University. As part of the meeting, the following topics were presented and discussed:

- pedagogical prerequisites for MOOC development;

- design and requirements for creating course content;

- integration of MOOCs into formal courses and programs;

- principles of MOOC design and development.

Also the staff of Anadolu University conducted a tour and showed the material support for MOOC creation. In particular, a real film studio where lectures are recorded using professional equipment. The video lecture editing studio is also equipped with professional equipment and special software. The university has a specially equipped e-book dubbing studio, which is equipped with special equipment, as well as a department for creating e-books. The mini-studios for conducting distance lectures, which are equipped with modern computer and video equipment, as well as special software for conducting online-classes, were particularly impressive. Specialists and service staff work in the departments, the number of employees in each department is from 30 to 60 people.

The second day of the visit was dedicated to work in groups on the topic “MOOC Idea Development Template”, where representatives of all educational institutions worked on issues of course topics, target groups of MOOCs, course duration, tasks and results, as well as issues of certification for training completed using MOOCs. Diogo Casanava, a representative of the University of Aberta (Portugal), also held an online lecture on topic “MOOCS and Formal Courses and Programs”.

The third day of the meeting was dedicated to the presentation of ideas from each educational institution regarding the design of their MOOC. Professor Cengiz Hakan Aydin provided his advice and recommendations for creating an effective online course, as well as applying the necessary techniques for creating video content.

As part of the working visit, the teachers also had the opportunity to get acquainted with the sights and curiosities of Eskişehir: the old town, Turkish mosques and the local museum, and of course, special Turkish sweets.
