From 24 to 27 September, researchers of the Educational and Research Institute “Ukrainian Engineering Pedagogics Academy” of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University took part in the 53rd International Conference on Engineering Pedagogy «ICL – 2024 Futureproofing Engineering Education for Global Responsibility», which was held in Tallinn (Estonia) at Tallinn University of Technology. The conference combined the 27th International Conference on Interactive Collaborative Learning and the 53rd IGIP International Conference on Engineering Pedagogy
This year's conference was held in a mixed format. Conference organisers: International Society for Engineering Pedagogy (IGIP); International Association for Online Engineering; Tallinn University of Technology.
Within the conference, Oleksandr Kupriianov, Deputy Director of the ERI “UEPA” of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, Professor of the Department of Information Technologies and Mathematics, was awarded the Adolf Melezinek Meritorious Award of the International Society for Engineering Pedagogy (IGIP) for his outstanding achievements and many years of work for the global development of engineering pedagogy within the framework of IGIP. The award was presented during a special IGIP/IELA Awards session.
At the conference, researchers from the ERI “UEPA” of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University presented the Erasmus + Cread4Teach project ‘MOOC-based micro-credentials for teacher professional development’.

Five reports in the session halls of the Tallinn conference, namely: Oleksandr Kupriianov presented “Testing platforms supplemented with artificial intelligence and educational templates”, Tetiana Bondarenko made a presentation on “Pedagogical innovations and educational ecosystems for the development of youth creativity and entrepreneurship”, Maryna Vasylieva presented “Development of youth activity in the territorial community: Experience and Current Challenges”, Yuliia Fedorova shared her research findings on “Emotional Intelligence in Business: Intergenerational Research”, and Jürgen Koberlein-Kerler, together with Ukrainian researchers, made a presentation on “Developing Educational Skills through the Development of Artificial Intelligence (AI)”.
Nine reports were presented online: ‘Training of specialists in the field of machine learning’, “Research of emotional intelligence of elderly people in Slovakia and Ukraine”, ’Artificial intelligence in education: A New Frontier of Application’, “Artificial Intelligence Technologies for Learning Foreign Languages at Engineering Universities”, “Modelling the Content of Forming Virtual Mobility of Future Food Industry Specialists”, “Formation of Professional Viability in Future Food Industry Specialists”, “Computer Training in Mathematical Modelling for Teachers of Technical Specialities”, “Monitoring Pedagogical Research by Means of the Bibliometrics of Ukrainian Science System”, “Innovative Educational Environment as a Condition for the Development of Competence of Future Vocational Education Teachers”
